Gaurav Gogoi Appointed Assam Congress President Ahead of 2026 Elections

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has been named the new Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president, replacing Bhupen Kumar Borah. The party also appointed three working presidents — Jakir Hussain Sikdar, Roselina Tirkey, and Pradip Sarkar. Gogoi is expected to lead the party into the 2026 state elections as its CM face. Meanwhile, Borah will head the Campaign Committee, with other key leaders assigned to various election-related roles.
