Gaurav Gogoi Leads Day-Long Campaign in Hajo–Sualkuchi, Targets Assam BJP Government

Assam Congress chief Gaurav Gogoi on Sunday carried out a day-long election campaign in the Hajo–Sualkuchi Assembly constituency, combining public outreach with criticism of the BJP-led state government. Beginning with prayers at a Ganesh temple in Agyathuri, he later joined a bike rally to Sualkuchi. Gogoi accused the Himanta Biswa Sarma government of eroding Assam’s foundations in the name of development and neglecting public issues. He also paid tribute to cultural icon Zubeen Garg and interacted with residents and senior citizens on concerns such as healthcare, unemployment, and rising prices. Congress leaders claimed growing public resentment against the BJP, especially among women, ahead of the elections.
