Gaurav Gogoi Raises Concern Over West Karbi Anglong Violence

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday expressed serious concern over the violence in West Karbi Anglong, where a protester was killed in police firing and several others, including police personnel, were injured.

Gogoi said the situation remains tense, leading to the suspension of mobile internet services in East and West Karbi Anglong. He urged the government to act with restraint, stressing that the Congress does not support violence and stands for peaceful, democratic protest. He also alleged that issues of indigenous and local communities are being ignored under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
