Gaurav Gogoi Slams Centre Over Anti-Paper Leak Bill

New Delhi, July 28: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Gaurav Gogoi on Monday criticised the Centre’s proposed anti-paper leak legislation, calling it a “cosmetic Bill” and alleging that the BJP government lacks the intent to bring meaningful reforms to India’s education system.
Gogoi questioned the effectiveness of the proposed changes, claiming past paper leak cases failed due to poor investigations. He also criticised the government’s announcement of a new education reform committee, saying similar panels in the past had produced no results. The Congress leader further demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah make a statement in Parliament on the police action against student protesters.
