Rahul Gandhi Calls for Permanent Solution to Assam Flood Crisis

Guwahati, July 28: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has urged the Centre and the Assam Government to develop a long-term strategy to tackle the state’s recurring floods. Expressing grief over the loss of lives, Gandhi said Assam needs a permanent system focused on scientific flood management, early warning, resilient infrastructure and rehabilitation.

He also hoped that relief and restoration efforts would continue without delay. His remarks came as the Assam Government announced plans to begin large-scale rehabilitation and infrastructure restoration in flood-affected districts after the Assembly session concludes.
