Gaurav Gogoi Urges Centre to Declare Assam Floods and Erosion as National Issues

APCC president Gaurav Gogoi urged the Centre to declare floods and erosion in Assam as national problems. He criticised the BJP-led government for inadequate support. Nearly 4,000 sq km of land has been lost to erosion. Gogoi hopes PM Modi will announce funds during his Assam visit in September. Congress plans to contest BTR elections actively. Gogoi also questioned BJP’s handling of the Assam Accord, NRC, and accused it of spreading fear ahead of the 2026 polls.
