GMC Advances Phase-II of South East Guwahati Water Supply Project

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has informed the Gauhati High Court’s division bench about the submission and approval of the detailed project report for Phase-II of the South East Guwahati Water Supply project by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Additionally, discussions with the New Development Bank were held on March 27, 2024, to secure a loan for the project’s completion. The Court has scheduled a follow-up on April 8, 2024, to review the outcomes of the meeting with the bank. The PIL (57/2021) on the issue of drinking water supply, filed by Chiriyakhana Patha Jyestho Nagarik Sanstha and involving the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), was heard during this session.
