GMC Announces Key Urban Reforms for Water, Property, and Business Services

Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has announced major reforms including a ₹9,500 subsidy for switching to Guwahati Jal Board water connections (valid till June 30, 2025), after which GMC supply ends. A GIS-based house numbering system is underway in all wards. Citizens can get up to 10% property tax rebate for maintaining urban greenery. GMC will install free rainwater harvesting systems in schools and public institutions. Trade license processes will be simplified to ease business operations.
