GMC Eviction Drive Ahead of Advantage Assam 2.0

Guwahati Municipal Corporation has launched an eviction drive targeting roadside vendors in Hatigaon and Ganeshguri, ahead of Advantage Assam 2.0 on February 25-26, 2025. JCB excavators have been used to dismantle vendor structures, and the drive will continue over the next few nights. Vendors expressed frustration, blaming the government’s delay in providing designated vending zones.
