GMC Intensifies Sanitation Drive Across Guwahati After Durga Puja Immersion

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has intensified its sanitation drive across the city following Durga Puja idol immersion to clear accumulated waste from riverbanks, immersion ghats, roads and public spaces. Cleaning operations are underway at Basistha Ghat and along Bamunimaidam Link Road to restore cleanliness and maintain hygiene.

GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania said the civic body was focusing on proper waste removal and disposal after the immersion rituals. He urged residents to cooperate with civic authorities and help maintain cleanliness across Guwahati, emphasising that public hygiene is a shared responsibility.
