GMC Launches Awareness Drive on Waste Segregation in Guwahati

Guwahati Municipal Corporation has intensified awareness campaigns across several wards in the city to encourage residents to separate wet and dry waste before disposal.

The outreach programmes were conducted in Pandu, Kamakhya Colony and nearby wards, where GMC officials interacted with residents, shopkeepers and community groups about proper waste management practices.

While many residents welcomed the initiative, some also highlighted the need for regular garbage collection and better monitoring to ensure effective implementation of the waste segregation system.
