Gaurav Gogoi Criticises Fee Hike at Gauhati University

Gaurav Gogoi has criticised the reported hike in admission and other fees at Gauhati University, calling it a major burden on middle-class and economically weaker students.

Referring to recent student protests at the university, Gogoi said higher education in Assam is gradually becoming unaffordable for ordinary families. He accused the Assam government of ignoring students’ concerns and focusing only on publicity.

Gogoi also stated that Assam’s youth are already facing issues like unemployment and examination controversies, and increasing admission fees would further worsen the situation for students.
