GMC Reviews Flood Control and Public Health Preparedness Ahead of Monsoon

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) held a special meeting on Wednesday to discuss flood management, public health and civic preparedness ahead of the monsoon season. Chaired by Mayor Mrigen Sarania, the meeting focused on scientific flood control measures, waterlogging issues and prevention of diseases such as tuberculosis.

Officials and councillors stressed the need for timely action, awareness campaigns and improved sanitation. GMC said it will intensify flood mitigation and public health initiatives in the coming weeks.
