GMCH Launches Epilepsy Awareness App for School Teachers

Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has launched a mobile app to train school teachers in managing epilepsy among students. Developed under the ICMR-supported Tele_ESSI project, the app offers video-based training on seizure handling and stigma reduction. A helpline started in October 2024 has already assisted 70+ cases. The initiative also runs in Punjab and Nagpur, promoting epilepsy care across India.
