In a significant success against gold smuggling, the Government Railway Police (GRP) conducted a successful operation on Platform Number 2 of Kamakhya Railway Station, leading to the recovery of a consignment containing 27 gold biscuits. The gold, believed to have been smuggled from Mumbai to Guwahati, was found in the possession of a young individual who had arrived in the city from Mumbai.
