Govt Defends Land Allotment to Mahabal Cement in Dima Hasao

The Assam government informed the Gauhati High Court that due process was followed in allotting 3,000 bighas of land to Mahabal Cement for a proposed factory in Dima Hasao. Construction will begin only after environmental and pollution clearances. The land, leased for 30 years, requires 34% to be maintained as a green belt. The court has sought responses from petitioners.
