GP Singh Appointed Director General of CRPF

Assam DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh has been appointed as the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his tenure until November 30, 2027. A 1991-batch IPS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, Singh previously served in roles with the NIA, SPG, and as Assam’s ADGP during the Citizenship Amendment Act protests. He also led Assam’s Rhino Protection Task Force. Singh succeeds Special DG Vitul Kumar in his new role.
