Guwahati Court Rejects NBW Plea Against Pawan Khera

A court in Guwahati has rejected Assam Police’s request for a non-bailable warrant against Congress leader Pawan Khera in a case filed by Riniki Bhuyan Sharma.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate ruled that the police plea lacked evidence and was based on assumptions, noting that authorities already have powers to arrest if required. The case stems from Khera’s allegations about Sharma holding multiple passports and foreign assets, which she claims are false and fabricated.

Earlier, Khera received interim relief from the Telangana High Court, but the Supreme Court of India stayed that order and directed him to seek anticipatory bail in Assam.
