Missing Polling Officer Found Dead in Karbi Anglong, Negligence Alleged

The decomposed body of polling official Cornelius Kindu was recovered from a remote hilly area in Karbi Anglong after he went missing during election duty on April 9.

He had reportedly left the polling station citing ill health but never reached home, prompting a search operation. The cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Family members and local leaders have alleged negligence, claiming he showed signs of serious illness during duty but did not receive proper medical care. They have demanded a high-level probe into the incident.
