Guwahati Gets New Waste Transfer and Recycling Facility at Panjabari

Guwahati | July 22: Guwahati strengthened its solid waste management infrastructure with the inauguration of a new Integrated Refuse Transfer Station (50 TPD) and Material Recovery Facility (10 TPD) at Panjabari. The facility was inaugurated by Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Kaushik Rai in the presence of Mayor Mrigen Sarania, Deputy Mayor Smita Roy, GMC Commissioner Chinmoy Prakash Phookan and other officials.
According to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), the facility will improve waste collection, segregation and recycling, helping create cleaner neighbourhoods while supporting sustainable urban waste management across the city.
