Guwahati Police Apprehends Dacoit Gang Behind Robbery and Fraud Scheme

In Guwahati, five dacoits were arrested following a complaint filed by Mukesh Choudhury from Siliguri. The group, consisting of Nabirul Islam, Anamika alias Aqlima Khatun, Banis Ali, Noor Mohammad, and Saleha Khatun, allegedly robbed Mukesh of his belongings after luring him from the Inter-State Bus Terminus to Ulubari. The victim was taken to a hotel, where he was fed, and later, the dacoits, with the help of an autorickshaw, kept him intoxicated throughout the day before robbing and abandoning him. Mukesh discovered Rs. 3.50 lakh fraudulently withdrawn from his account between January 11 and January 14. Following his complaint, the police arrested Aqlima Khatun and Noor Mohammad in Assam’s Darrang, and the other three suspects were later detained in Goalpara. All five are currently under interrogation in connection with the incident.
