Guwahati Police Arrest Land Broker for Fraudulent Land Acquisition

In a significant development, Guwahati police arrested Jogeshwar Nath, a 49-year-old land broker, from the Narengi locality for his involvement in a fraudulent land acquisition case. Acting on a complaint filed at Noonmati police station, the police raided Nath’s residence at Narengi Housing Colony on Wednesday, leading to his arrest. Nath is accused of illegally acquiring a plot of land belonging to the CPI political party, prompting the party to file an FIR against him. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
