Guwahati Police Crack Down on Siren Gang After Hit-and-Run; Seize Luxury Cars Linked to High-Profile Individuals
Following a hit-and-run incident, the Guwahati police have made a significant breakthrough by launching a massive search for a suspected siren gang. This gang violated the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, by illegally installing sirens and red/blue beacon lights on vehicles. The operation, prompted by the confession of hit-and-run accused Arin Kataki, led to the seizure of nine luxury cars owned by high-profile individuals, including businessmen, contractors, and a CID official. Notably, all the vehicles were being driven by the owners’ sons, who are students at prominent colleges and universities in Guwahati. Legal actions are now underway as the police continue their investigation into this illicit activity.
