Guwahati Police Detains Narcotics Peddler, Seizes Psychotropic Tablets
Chandmari Police in Guwahati detained Jehirul Islam for allegedly peddling narcotics and seized 300 tablets with psychotropic effects from him. Acting on informant inputs, police officials apprehended Islam from Mamoni Raisom Goswami road. Initially resistant, Islam led police to his two-wheeler’s boot where the tablets were concealed. Each strip of tablets was valued at Rs 75, totaling around Rs 22,500. Islam, a resident of Islampur, Guwahati, was reportedly involved in peddling narcotics in the vicinity. Police confiscated his vehicle and plan further investigations, suspecting additional accomplices.
