Guwahati Student Assaulted in Hotel, Suspect Arrested

A 19-year-old university student was allegedly sexually assaulted in a Guwahati hotel by Hemanta Sonowal, a Digboi resident posing as an HPCL employee. The accused, met via a dating app, lured the victim to a Hatigaon hotel where the assault occurred. The victim’s family reported the incident to Noonmati Police, who arrested Sonowal in Bhangagarh. The police are investigating and will pursue strict legal action.
