Guwahati Takes Stride Towards Green Transport: Diesel Buses to be Phased Out by 2025-26

In a significant environmental initiative, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced plans to eradicate diesel-run buses from Guwahati streets. The government aims to complete this transition by 2025-26, promoting eco-friendly alternatives such as electric and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to combat air pollution and reduce carbon emissions. The announcement was made during the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a new city flyover.
