Guwahati to Host Inaugural Asian Film Festival in February 2025

Guwahati will host its first-ever ‘Guwahati Asian Film Festival’ (GAFF) from February 7 to 9, 2025. The event will showcase prominent films from Asia and Northeast India, marking a milestone in regional and international cinema. GAFF will feature competitive and non-competitive sections, with cash prizes for outstanding films from the Northeastern region. Honorary Director Monita Borgohain expressed confidence in the festival becoming a key cultural event in Assam. Film submissions opened on September 5, 2024. The advisory board includes notable figures like Srinivasa Santhanam and Utpal Borpujari.
