Health Team Steps Up Measures After Japanese Encephalitis Case in Guwahati

Guwahati (Assam): Following the confirmation of a Japanese Encephalitis (JE) case, a joint team from the Metropolitan Surveillance Unit (MSU) conducted a house visit and environmental assessment to prevent further spread of the mosquito-borne disease.

The team inspected the surrounding area, counselled family members on routine immunisation, and created awareness about mosquito control and sanitation. Fogging and Temephos spraying were also carried out in the locality to curb mosquito breeding.

Health officials urged residents to eliminate stagnant water, maintain cleanliness, and ensure eligible children receive routine vaccination to help prevent Japanese Encephalitis.
