Healthcare Paralysis at Digboi CHC Amid NHM Employees’ Strike

Patients at Digboi Community Health Centre are suffering as no doctors are available at night due to the ongoing NHM and AAHTWA statewide strike. The hospital, serving Digboi and nearby villages, has been without medical staff from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., forcing even emergency cases to leave untreated. Only three government doctors handle daytime services. Locals fear fatalities if the crisis continues and urge the government to appoint more permanent doctors. The protest, ongoing since October 29, has crippled healthcare across several Assam districts.
