Heartbreak Not Instigation for Suicide: Gauhati High Court

The Gauhati High Court ruled that breakups and heartbreaks are common life events and do not amount to instigation for suicide. The court granted bail to Raj Kapil Khaound, accused of abetting the suicide of a 30-year-old woman in Guwahati. Khaound was arrested after the woman’s mother filed an FIR claiming mental harassment led to her daughter’s death. The court found no grounds for instigation and granted bail for ₹20,000. Another accused, Manab Jyoti Koch, remains in judicial custody.
