Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging, Traffic Chaos in Guwahati

Guwahati: Heavy overnight and early morning rain on Sunday left several parts of Guwahati waterlogged, disrupting traffic during peak office hours. Chandmari, Hatigaon, Wireless and Lalung Gaon along NH-27 were among the worst-affected areas.

The flooding led to long traffic jams, delayed commuters, and transport disruptions, while exposing the city’s recurring drainage problems. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious as intermittent rainfall is expected to continue.
