Himanta Biswa Sarma Accuses Congress of Dynastic Politics Over Candidate List

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday criticised the Congress after it released its candidate list for the upcoming Assembly elections, alleging that many nominees were selected based on family connections and nepotism.
Speaking in Guwahati, Sarma said several candidates are relatives of former Congress leaders, calling the list an example of dynastic politics.
He contrasted this with the BJP’s approach, stating that the party gives opportunities to leaders from ordinary and middle-class families rather than political dynasties. Sarma said this reflects the ideological difference between the BJP and Congress.
