Raijor Dal Protests in Dispur, Demands Flood Compensation for Upper Assam

Raijor Dal staged a protest in Dispur on Monday, demanding immediate compensation for flood-affected families in Upper Assam. Demonstrators gathered outside Janata Bhawan and ministers’ residential quarters, but police intervened and detained several protesters, triggering tense scenes.

Meanwhile, Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi criticised Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over the government’s response to the compensation demand. Gogoi alleged that neither the Chief Minister nor the Chief Secretary had contacted him to discuss the issue.
