Himanta Biswa Sarma Promises Rs 500 Daily Wage for Tea Garden Workers

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said the NDA government will continue prioritising the welfare of tea garden workers and gradually increase daily wages to Rs 500 in the coming years.

The Chief Minister also highlighted welfare measures taken for tea communities, including the establishment of 118 model high schools in tea garden areas between 2021 and 2026. The government plans to set up 100 more such schools by 2031.
