Himanta Biswa Sarma Promises Two Lakh Jobs, Pushes Development Agenda in Barak Valley

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma intensified the BJP’s campaign in Barak Valley, urging voters to reject Congress and independent candidates to ensure continued development.

Addressing rallies, he said every vote for BJP would strengthen both his leadership and that of Narendra Modi.

Sarma promised two lakh jobs if re-elected, including positions in police, education, and technical sectors, along with special recruitment for Bengali and Hindi medium schools.

He also announced free higher education for economically weaker students and highlighted infrastructure plans, including road upgrades, new administrative units, and local development projects.

Warning against vote division, he said a split mandate would benefit the Indian National Congress.

With polling set for April 9, Barak Valley remains a key battleground.
