Hindi Introduced as Official Language in Assam Assembly

Guwahati: Hindi will be introduced as an official language in the Assam Legislative Assembly from the Budget Session, alongside Assamese, English and Bodo, Assembly Speaker Ranjeet Kumar Dass announced.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma clarified that Bodo will continue as an official language of the Assembly, reaffirming the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting the language. He also dismissed reports suggesting that Bodo would be removed from the House.
