Honoring Wisdom: Kamrup District Celebrates Elderly Voters on Assamese New Year

District Commissioner and District Election Officer of Kamrup, Keerthi Jalli, embarked on a special visit to the residence of 105-year-old voter Ramati Baishya on the Assamese New Year. This visit, coinciding with Rongali Bihu celebrations, was part of an initiative to honor elderly voters and promote electoral participation. Jalli extended Bihu wishes and traditional Assamese offerings to Baishya, urging her to exercise her voting rights in the upcoming elections. Similar felicitation programs were held for elderly voters across various locations in the district. This proactive effort under the SVEEP program aims to raise voter awareness and ensure robust participation in democracy.
