West Bengal Chief Minister and All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) chief Mamata Banerjee is set for a whirlwind visit to Silchar on April 17 to bolster the campaign for AITC candidate Radhe Shyam Biswas. Assam Trinamool Congress president Ripun Bora announced Banerjee’s itinerary, highlighting her plans to address a public meeting at the Town Club field. The primary focus of the campaign is to challenge the BJP’s stronghold in the region, with Bora asserting that the main contest in Silchar is between the BJP and AITC. Bora dismissed claims of AIUDF support for AITC, attributing it to BJP’s agenda.
