IIT Guwahati Launches Tree-Based Enterprise Incubation Center

The School of Agro and Rural Technology (SART) at IIT Guwahati inaugurated the Tree-Based Enterprise Incubation Center (TBEIC) under the TOFI initiative on January 10, 2025. The center aims to promote sustainable tree-based enterprises, enhance agroforestry practices, and support rural development.

Supported by USAID and regional stakeholders, TBEIC focuses on developing tree crop value chains, fostering entrepreneurship, and providing business support. Officials emphasized its role in environmental conservation, rural empowerment, and leveraging the Northeast’s ecological assets for innovation and growth. The initiative aligns with TOFI’s goals of sustainable livelihoods and environmental resilience.
