IIT-Guwahati Student Detained for Alleged ISIS Affiliation

A student from IIT-Guwahati was apprehended by the police after allegedly expressing allegiance to ISIS and attempting to join the terrorist organization. The detainment occurred in the Hajo area near Guwahati on Saturday night. This incident follows closely after the arrest of ISIS India head Haris Farooqi and his associate Anurag Singh in Dhubri district just four days prior, after they crossed over from Bangladesh. Director General of Police GP Singh confirmed the detention of the student, stating that further lawful action would be taken.
