IMD Forecasts Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Across Assam

Guwahati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across Guwahati and several districts of Assam over the next 3–4 days.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has warned that the weather may lead to waterlogging, flash floods, slow traffic, and localized landslides in vulnerable areas. Authorities have urged residents to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain, and take necessary safety precautions.
