In 2024, the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority is planning to implement multiple projects

In 2024, the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) plans to work on a number of projects. While some of these projects are already under way, others are still waiting for the start of work.

Some of the planned projects include parks, which will help to beautify the surrounding areas and the city overall in addition to encouraging people to exercise and kids to play. The GMDA is currently working on three projects pertaining to the growth of the city’s parks. One of them already has construction in progress. In the Chandmari area of the city, a project known as the Bhupen Hazarika Nizara Memorial Park is currently under construction.
