In Assam, 1,281 madrasas were transformed into regular schools

Up to 1,281 government and provincialized madrasas in Assam will become general schools under the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), according to a Wednesday announcement from the department of school education in the state.

The list of institutions that to be converted into regular schools was posted by Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on X “Consequent to the conversion of all Govt and Provincialised Madrasa into general schools under SEBA, the Department of School Education in Assam has changed the names of 1281 ME Madrasas into ME Schools by a notification today.
