Indian Railways Eases Ticket Booking Restrictions to Enhance Passenger Convenience

Indian Railways has removed the outer limit of geo-fencing restrictions on the UTS on Mobile App, aiming to improve passenger convenience and simplify the ticket booking process. This move is part of the railway’s digitization efforts to promote three C’s – Contactless ticketing, Cashless transactions, and Customer convenience & experience. Previously, passengers were unable to book tickets while inside a station or at home due to geo-fencing restrictions. This change allows commuters to book unreserved and platform tickets without restrictions within a 20km to 50km radius of a station, facilitating easier access to ticketing services.
