Indian Railways to Boost Connectivity in North Eastern Region

Indian Railways plans to enhance connectivity in the North Eastern region by linking Imphal, Aizawl, and Kohima and extending railways to border areas. Sabyasachi De, CPRO of Northeast Frontier Railway, announced various projects, including Imphal to Moreh for Myanmar connectivity and several projects towards Bangladesh. With 18 ongoing projects totaling around Rs 74,000 crore, significant progress includes near completion of the Mizoram project and ongoing work in Arunachal Pradesh. Additionally, a new rail-cum-road bridge over the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati has been sanctioned, with tenders expected by August.
