Infant Sold for Rs 5,000 Recovered After 11 Months in Kamrup

An 11-month-old girl, sold for Rs 5,000 by her grandfather, was rescued by police from Sontoli, Kamrup. The child was taken under the pretext of medical treatment after birth at Gauhati Medical College. Following a complaint by the mother, police traced and recovered the baby within 24 hours. Two accused have been arrested.
