Investigative detectives in the Kamrup district detain two officials on suspicion of bribery
Friday saw the arrest of two government officials by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Cell in two different operations on suspicion of bribery.
In the first case, an official identified as Pradip Kalita, Supervisor Kanungo was caught red-handed accepting a bribe in his office after the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption cell set up a trap at the Samaria Revenue Circle in the Kamrup district.
Another official was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from a complainant as a reward for releasing the complainant’s bills against providing food items and arranging other amenities during the agriculture training programme. The official is identified as Budheswar Das, District Agricultural Officer, Goalpara.
