The hospital, under the leadership of GMCH principal Prof. (Dr.) Achyut Chandra Baishya, initiated an infertility clinic in 2022. The successful delivery, announced during a press conference by Baishya, marks a breakthrough in assisted reproduction in the Northeast. GMCH Superintendent Dr. Abhijit Sarma highlighted the accessibility of IVF treatment at the hospital, offered at a fraction of the cost compared to private facilities. With IVF procedures available every Wednesday and Friday, GMCH encourages patients seeking such treatment to consider their services. Both mother and baby are reported to be in stable condition post-delivery.
