Jaiñtia National Council Protests Against Railway Project

The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC) held a massive Black Flag Rally on Thursday, opposing the proposed railway project in Meghalaya’s Jaiñtia Hills. Protesters carried banners rejecting the project, fearing unchecked migration could threaten their culture and demographics.

JNC criticized the government for ignoring their long-standing objections. In response, CM Conrad K. Sangma assured a meeting with stakeholders to address concerns and prevent illegal immigration.
