Jatiya Dal Assam Leader Arrested for Alleged ULFA-I Links

Assam Police arrested Jatiya Dal Assam General Secretary Pranab Jyoti Chetia in Guwahati over a social media post allegedly supporting banned outfit ULFA-I. The arrest, part of Independence Day security measures, follows a case registered by the Crime Branch. Police will probe further for possible deeper links. Authorities have also detained other ULFA-I suspects amid high alert following last year’s failed IED attacks across Assam.
